House League
The Dover Youth Hockey House program offers a recreational program for all levels of play and ages. We encourage beginners and experienced players, as well as males and females to participate. We emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development as our primary focus. House is an inexpensive starting point for organized hockey in a great learning environment.
The House League season generally starts in mid to late October and concludes in late February. There is one (1) practice and one (1) game per week on Friday nights and Sunday mornings. Teams are selected by the skill level of the players and by geographical location. All players receive a shirt and socks. Goalies are supplied with equipment. Generally, there are 4 teams at each age level for Mini-Mites & Mites; 2 teams at the Squirts and U-15 levels. All teams make the playoffs at the end of the season and every players receives an award for participation. Sunday morning games are officiated by USA hockey certified referees (except Mini-mites). Squirt and U15 teams will be hosting and visiting some local area house league teams from neighboring associations. This is a very exciting opportunity for our house leaguers!
DYHA utilizes the cross ice program for both Mini-Mites & Mites that has been very successful within USA Hockey. Click here to learn more about our cross ice initiative.
